Match report After now being officially mid way through the season, Oakfield Parkonians started the second half against Leigh On Sea, knowing that promotion was still very possible. Leigh On Sea won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket that looked as though it was good to bat on. Osman Choudhary (12-0-41-4) opened the bowling and had an excellent spell. He got the ball to swing both ways and really troubled the batsmen. He bowled with excellent lines and lengths and didn't bowl many loose balls. Picking up 4 wickets in a terrific effort from Osman considering how much of a batting wicket it was. He was well supported by Ravi Teja (16-3-38-1), Om Thakeria (7-0-26-1) and Paran Kalley (2.2-0-9-3). The 3 spinners got a lot of purchase from the wicket and didn't allow any of the batsmen to put together a partnership and bowled tightly. Leigh On Sea finished on 122 all out meaning Parks had 57 overs to chaser 123 runs which should see the boys chase it comfortably.

Leigh On Sea came out the traps fast and picked up early wickets. Umar Choudhary (33*) and Aman Ali (31) batted with maturity, class and aggression. After picking up early wickets, the pressure was on the Parks batsmen but these two steady the ship brilliantly. Although we chased it 4 down the chase was never easy (as chasing low scores always are), but the most important thing is we got the 20 points. Puts the boys in a confident mood going into the game next week against Horndon on the Hill.
