Match report After last weeks disappointing defeat to Epping Oakfield Parkonians were looking to bounce back with a win against Harlow Town. Paran Kalley lost the toss and Harlow Town chose to bat first. It was beautiful wicket to bat on and with the good weather Parks knew they would have their work cut out for them. Navneeth Vijaykumar (7-0-39-0) opened the bowling once again and impressed with the new ball. He was unlucky to not pick up any wickets and threatened their batsmen. Harlow Town looked in control at 70-0 after 13 overs. But when Ravi Teja (10-3-17-1) and Tarun Bhatia (7-1-28-1) came on to bowl the whole game changed. They tightened up both ends and were able to get Parks back in the driving seat. 95 for 2 at drinks was the Harlow Town score and it was something the team was impressed with and knew if Parks were chasing anything under 230 they had done well. Parks continued to bowl tightly and not allow Harlow Town to build any strong partnerships. However, a few cameos at the end and some poor death bowling at times meant Harlow Town were able to go attacking and reach a total of 217. It was a total that Parks were confident of chasing.

Bilaal Anwar (59) and Raihan Hussain (23) opened the batting beautifully. They took the attack to the bowlers and put them under pressure straight away. Together they built a beautiful platform and allowed batsmen after them to play their strokes. Bilaal was the aggressor of the two and was able to pick the gaps beautifully and clear the rope when needed. My personal favourite being the six over the bowlers head in the second over of the game. Then in stepped Umar Chourdhary (55*) and Ravi Teja (54*). They both saw us home with ease and took apart their bowling. Parks finished on 218 for 2 after 41 overs and it ended up being a comfortable win for Parks. We welcome Benfleet to Parks next week looking for another win
