Match report After last weeks home win against Leigh-On-Sea, Oakfield Parkonians travelled to Horndon-On-The-Hill who were looking to get their first win on the board for the league season. Skipper Paran Kalley lost the toss again and Horndon elected to bat first. On what seemed like a lovely batting wicket and it being a very hot day, Parks knew they would have their work cut out for them if they wanted to bowl out their fourth side in four weeks. Selvam Ramasamy and Osman Choudhary opened the bowling as usual and bowled beautiful lines and length. They created pressure and didn't allow the Horndon batsmen to build a foundation. All bowlers bowled extremely well and were persistent with the good line and length. Ravi Teja (10-3-21-1) was the pick of the bowlers. When runs were flowing from one end he was able to control his and put the Horndon batsmen under some real pressure. Also, Harry Markatis kept beautifully behind the stumps. It wasn't an easy wicket to keep on (with it being compared to Parks pitch a few years ago) and to only give away five byes is a really good effort from the 1s wicketkeeper.

Chasing 156 wasn't going to be an easy target with the pitch doing all sorts. Parks found themselves in a real hole being 16-3 at 8 overs and the Horndon bowlers with their tails up. But Aman Ali (44*) and Ravi (100*) controlled the game and took it to the Horndon bowlers. Aman batted with patience and class and rotated the strike really well. Ravi hit the ball to all parts of the ground, reaching his second fifty in just fifteen minutes and absolutely ripping apart the Horndon bowlers. After being 16 for 3 at 8 overs Parks reached the target of 156 with 28 overs to spare. That now makes it 2 wins out of the first 2 games and Parks now move onto Epping at home next week who are one of the favourites to go up this year so it won't be an easy game.
