Match report Parks entertained Epping 3rd XI for the first of the final four overs game at home. Parks won the toss and elected to field first. Conditions were overcast but dry and fair.

Park opened the bowling with a new ball partnership of Manicks Shankar and Sachin Arora who made his debut for the 4ths. One the very 2nd over Sachin removed one of the opening batsmen to a brilliant low handed catch at slip by Fazan. Even with a weakened bowling attack parks kept the run-rate below average for the home track which is known for high scoring games. The game-plan was to restrict the opposition to under 180.

Parks bowlers took wickets at regular intervals but Epping’s number 3 batsman Tahidul stood firm and scored a fluent 121. Epping ended their innings at 178 all out after 38 overs. Debudant Sachin bowled well to pick up 4 for 19 especially at the depth. Other wickets takers were Maran (3-17), Yash (2-32) and Chetan (1-40).

In replay, the usual opening partnership of Bhavik and Chetan once again provided the platform with a solid 80 run partnership for the first wicket in 16 overs. Both played with aggression and confidence and continued their good form. Chetan departed after scoring 47 and unlucky not to get to his 50. Bhavik registered his 6th league half century of the season and 8th overall for the year, with a stylish 53. Young colt Krishan at number 3 dropped anchor and held the rest of the innings together and scored a well made 23. A late cameo from Yash (17*) helped Parks to complete the chase. Parks won the match with 3 overs to spare and ended the innings at 179-6.

Another good win for the 4ths against a very good opponent.
