Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club 4th XI v Walthamstow 3s on Sat 01 Aug 2020 at 12.30
Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 140 runs.

Match report
Skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. Weather conditions were dry and cloudy. Parks openers Nikhil & Keerthi started well both ended up with double figure, unfortunately unable make that into a big score. Highlights of parks batting were produced by youngster Sujeev and Skipper George. Sujeev produced a master class, hitting 104 (Not out). He played a patient innings, was not afraid to punish the bad balls. It was a pleasure to watch. As usual George played a dominating innings hitting 12 boundaries. This is his second half century in 2 games. Bhavik (30) & Samuel (19) making useful contributions. Parks scoring 278 for 7 wickets down, this being the highest total so far.

Parks opening bowlers were well aware that they needed to keep the run rate down. Opposition bats were restricted to 59 runs in the first 10 overs. Nikhil and Samuel were brilliant on the field, making sure there were no easy runs for the opposition. Wicket keepers Sam & George did well, keeping it tidy and taking the chances. Parks bowling the opposition out for 136 runs in 31 overs to record their first league win of the season. Considering Parks played Walthamstow 3XI it's very good achievement. Now Parks must take this momentum into the next game. Best bowler of the day Yashesh, demonstrated his pace and accuracy.

Special thanks to Shankar for putting an effort to produce a detailed Scorecard along with the balls faced by the batsman and time spent on the pitch.

Today we had 3 colts Nikhil, Samuel and debutant Sujeevan playing for 4XI against Walthamstow 3XI. Nikhil opened the batting with Keerthi scoring 11 (28 mins facing 22 balls). Sam batted at 8 scored 19 (20 mins facing 18 balls). But the star of the day was young Sujeevan who produced a master class in building the innings and scoring big. He batted at number 3 and scored a fluent 104* (2hrs and 24 mins facing only 84 balls including 18 boundaries and one 6). He did not give a single chance and took his time to settle in and then accelerate. A joy to watch. All 3 fielded brilliantly. Both Sujeev and Nikhil dropped a catch each but it will only make them more determined and focused on the coming games. Sam also kept for the second half and his keeping was exceptional.
