Match report Coming off the back of three straight victories, the 3’s were looking to make it a fourth at home to Loughton. Having won the toss for the first time this year, Oakfield opted to bowl first looking at the conditions.Oakfield started strongly by getting an early wicket of one of the openers with a great ball by Jigar Desai which was nicked behind for a well taken catch in the slips by Jamie Gordon. Oakfield had their opponents 68 after 20 overs and were hoping to keep them under 150. Unfortunately with lack of bowling depth in the middle overs, Loughton’s batsmen put on some runs in the middle overs but were pegged back a couple of times by Oakfield with Gurmit Bhatia one of the stand out bowlers taking four wickets, one by way of an excellent catch in the deep by Faisal Chaudhury running in from cow corner. Loughton finished off 196-9 off their 40 overs setting Oakfield 197 to win.

In reply, it was not a great start by Oakfield with them losing both opening batsmen for very little runs. Unfortunately, this trend continued, and Oakfield just couldn’t get going. Faisal Chaudhury took the fight to Loughton with a quickfire 30 and hitting 18 in one over before getting caught on the boundary. There was not much left in the tank for Oakfield and no one else could score any runs which eventually saw them bowled out for only 63. A disappointing loss for the home side who will no doubt bounce back next week.
