Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 87 runs

Match report The 2s entertained Woodford wells at home this week and the away team won the toss and decided to bat. Woodford wells got off to a flyer and were scoring at 8 an over. Sarankan Skandamoorthy decided to bring himself on and it paid dividends straight away, he managed to get a wicket in his first over. Haaris shah picked up a wicket the following over and this helped slow down the run rate as both openers were removed. Haaris and Sarankan bowled tight overs and applied pressure on Woodford Wells’ batting line up. After 30 over the score was 136-6 and parks had done well to contain Woodford Wells after the start they had. The last 10 overs were crucial for both teams, however dropping Liam Dolden (37) on 10 proved costly. He played some good shots and ran well between the wickets to help Woodford Wells post a score of 181.

In reply parks lost Taaha Naqvi very early and this required Alan Bouquet (22) and Usman Rafiq (8) to bat cautiously. Alan was out LBW in the 12th over and after that wickets began to tumble. A late cameo from Ibrahim Iqbal (32) and Haaris Shah (19) helped Parks have some belief they were still in the game, however once they both got out it was looking to be a tough ask. In the end, Parks were bowled out for 94. Parks are playing Harlow next week and it looks like they need to improve in their game to get a positive result.
