Match report Oakfield Parkonians 2s started the Ronnie Irani division away to South Woodford they won the toss and elected to bat first. Seth Malick and Matthew Holland opened the bowling and bowled good tight lines. Parks seemed to have the upper hand for the first 15 overs as South Woodford only managed to score 70 runs and lost 2 wickets in the process. However, on a flat deck and in the 25 degree heat the Parks bowlers began to tire and South Woodford were capitalising on this. But the pick of the bowlers was Talha Raja (7-0-1-41) he showed great control and was a bit unlucky at times. At one stage it looked as if Parks would be chasing 240/250 however good tight death bowling meant South Woodford only managed 196 off their 40 overs.
Parks didn't start the chase well as 3 quick wickets meant Parks were 40-3 off 10 overs. However a partnership between Shane(62) and skipper Paran (79) meant Parks were taking control of the game. There was another important cameo from Dilan(27) which saw him and Paran steer Parks towards the target. However, another two quick wickets meant it was bit off a nervy finish from Parks but we won with 3 wickets to spare. It was good start to the division and one of the youngest sides the 2s have put out showed a lot of promise and if this carries on the future is very bright for our club.
