Match report After a complete wash out last week, Parks welcomed Hornchurch. Only two points ahead of us on the league table, the 5XI we're prepared for tight game.

Skipper Subash lost the toss and the visitors elected to bat. The Hornchurch openers started strongly finding the boundary with ease but as soon as opening bowlers Yashes Patel and Charith Bhanu found their line and length the wickets began to fall. Charith made the first breakthrough with an excellent swinging delivery that just clipped the bails. Yash soon followed suit bowling with real freedom, getting his first dismissal in similar fashion clipping the bails with a brilliant in swinging delivery. The opening bowling partnership took nine wickets between them with Charith finishing with figures of 5-0-23-3 and Yash with figures of 8-3-25-6, a brilliant 6 wicket haul. Parks were set a target of 60 to win.

Parks were confident about reaching the target with relative ease but knew the pitch would not be easy to bat on. This proved true as the opening batsmen fell cheaply. Samuel Varnes went in at 3 and was clearly hungry and ready for tea, dispatching the bowling to all parts of the ground including a massive six that ended up of the football pitches. He ended up on 27* and that wrapped up a very strong and disciplined performance by the 5XI winning by 6 wickets.
