Match report Oakfield Parks travelled to play an inform Harold Wood team. On losing the toss we were asked to field.
From the beginning Parks looked good, consistent bowling and early wickets from Nimanka and Aman Patel (8-25-3) meant Parks hit them hard leaving Harold Woods’s middle order under pressure to post a defendable score. Wickets tumbled further with Parks first change bowlers Andrew Beaven (7-1-24-2) and Yashes Patel (8.2-3-11-2) and so Harold Wood posted a below par 139 all out.
Parks went in to bat with the intention to chase down the score quickly so we could get back in time to watch the Champions league final however Harold Wood bowlers had other ideas. The loss of two quick wickets meant Parks had to rethink their strategy. And that they did with the nicely composed innings of Andrew Beaven 45 supported by Vijay 19 meant we steadied ourselves back to a comfortable position. After the loss of the top four Park cruised to the total with ease. A special mention to the partnership of Yashes Patel (27 not out) and Inderjit Singh (23 not out) whose fours and sixes (which cleared the boundary by some way), meant Harold Wood could not get back into the game.
A good win and overall fantastic team performance. We host top of the table Goresbrook next week hoping to make it 3 wins in a row.
