Match report On the hottest day of the season, Parks hosted West Essex CC. Parks captain once again lost the toss, and Parks were asked to bat first.

For the 2nd consecutive week, Parks failed to cross the 200 mark; on this occasion only making 198/9 in the allocated 45 overs. The openers Bhavik & Chetan gave Parks a decent start, which was further consolidated by Amar (41) & Maran (40). However, like last week, the middle & lower order batsman were unable to push forward the total past the 200 mark, which is a concern that Parks must correct at the earliest.

In defence, Parks as always bowled well but on this occasion were unable to restrict the opposition from reaching the set target in the 39th over. The wickets were shared between the bowlers, all of whom collectively put in 100% effort.

So this was a very challenging game against a good West Essex side, and with this Parks experience their 1st loss of the season. Parks now stand 2nd in the league, and move onto Shenfield CC next week, seeking to finish the last of the early stage timed games with 25 points.
