Match report Parks had to win this game to stay in the promotion hunt, albeit against the side bottom of the league. Batting first to try and gain maximum points, Parks posted 221/4 off 42 overs. Usman Rafiq again top scoring with 81 not out to be the standout, but there were other contributions throughout the top order.
It was a slow and uneven pitch, meaning this was a very good total to defend. It proved so, as Jigar Desai ripped through the Southend lineup, picking up 6 wickets in no time. Kabir Parhar at the other end also bowled well, picking up 2 wickets.
Parks won the game comfortably, but they go into the last game of the season against Loughton knowing a win is required to guarantee promotion, with Ilford and Wickford both looking to pip us at the post.
