Match report Stand-in skipper, J Patel, won the toss and elected to bat on a good deck.

Parks started well for 30-0, when T Naqvi (17) got a good ball to snick behind. Parks fancied a score of 200-225 would be defendable with the number of spinners in the side, but unfortunately the batters got plenty of starts but wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Parks fell 50 runs short from the full batting points, and if one of the partnerships between H Markatis (27) and S Skandamoorthy (20), or J Patel (22) and S Malick (17) could have kicked one Parks could have reached the target.

The defence didn't start well for Parks as the Chelsmford opener was dropped twice in two overs. R Hayto (44) went on to get a quick-fire 44 and although F Bhatti (10-1-30-1) bowled well, lapses of concentration allowed Chelsmford to chase the target with only 1 wicket fallen, comfortably off 33 overs. It could have different if Parks took some of their early chances, but it wasn't to be and the final game of the season leaves Parks with a must-win to survive in the league.
