Match report Parks went into the game with high hopes after a good result against Ilford last week.
Paran lost the toss and Hornchurch elected to bat first on an absolute road. Parks got off to the perfect start with Sahil picking up a wicket in his second over, a lovely ball that got the Hornchurch opener in trouble. After that it was all Hornchurch, with their other opener Paul Murray (who should be playing in the 1s premiership) took the Parks bowlers to pieces. At one stage Hornchurch were 80-1 off 8 overs and Paul had 65 off them for Hornchurch. A mixture of bad bowling and poor fielding made it seem as though Parks were in for a long stint in the field and that Hornchurch were going to rack up the runs. However, a great bowling partnership between Ravi (12-2-37-5) and Dilan (13.5-0-63--3) meant that Parks brought the game back to Hornchurch and bowled them out for 194, something Parks felt confident with chasing and knew the game was there to be won and that Hornchurch were 50-60 runs short.

After an excellent tea, Sachin and Faisal took to the crease to start off our run chase. Things couldn't have gone better with Parks being 40-0 off 6 overs. Sachin(34) was seeing the ball like a balloon and was dispatching the overseas to all parts. Unfortunately, that was it for Parks as a mixture off bad shots and some shocking decisions meant parks found themselves 65-4. A mini little partnership from Paran(12) and Sarankan(22) brought Parks into the game a little, with less than 100 to win and both batsmen looking set. However, Hornchurch got 2 wickets in 2 balls removing both Paran and Sarankan and defeat was inevitable for Parks. There was too much pressure on the lower order and Parks were bowled out for 121 not even getting a single batting point. A game in which Parks felt they should've won and knew they threw away. Parks were a little disheartened by the result as we felt we should've won the game.

Parks look forward to welcoming Brentwood next week which will also be a tough challenge but one the boys will be up for.
