Match report Oakfield Parkonians hosted Orsett in what would be the half way mark of the league season. The toss was won and Parks had a bat.

Parks did well to start and Dhruv Patel got us of to a nice start with an attractive 38. The mainstay of the innings was Ravi Teja with a solid 69 of 75 balls to almost bat to the end. As usual a mixture of well taken singles and some very classy shots was on display. However, the cherry on the cake was a blistering cameo from Baldeep Mann with 41 of only 23 balls to propel to what looked a good 262.

Orsett started the batting but things went well for the home side as Selvam Ramasamy (10-46-3) grabbed early wickets to have them at 7-2. However, this is when the wheels came of for parks as some very undisciplined bowling cost parks dearly. The bowlers seemed incapable of stringing 6 balls in the same area and constant balls thrown down leg side meant extras piled up to an enormous 60 and Orsetts top scorer! Saying that Orsett batted well and sensibly but nevertheless were gifted so many free runs the pressure was always taken off them. In the end despite parks giving there all, Orsett got home to win in the 45th over.

A very disappointing result and lessons must be learnt in keeping it simple and bowling in consistent good areas. We host top of the table next week hoping to at least put in a more mature disciplined display.
