Match report On a pleasant summers day we travelled to Harlow Town seeking to get a win. Harlow Town won the toss after captain Dave Rai lost his 3rd toss in a row and they decided to bat which was ideal for Parks in any case. The track looked an excellent one for batsman.

From ball one Selvam Ramasamy( 11-38-4) was on the mark hitting superb consistent areas. On a batting track, patience and pressure was the key and he executed this perfectly as he grabbed 4 top order wickets with the new cherry including their dangerous Indian overseas. Harlow Town dug in and rallied on a flat pitch but Parks kept bowling well and were superb. Ravi Raval making his ones debut after excellent second team performances showed what a good call up he was with wily left arm spin to grab 3 wickets (13-52-3). The tail was finished of by Shawn Tuitt’s off spin. So they ended up on 197 which we felt was way below par and felt confident of chasing them down.

After an excellent tea and some interesting chats with the opposition. We went out to bat and straight away Shawn Tuitt bullied the submissive Harlow Town player’s with some power shots to blast us to great start. He was ably supported by Dhruv Patel who also hit some crisp shots to fire 34 runs. A great opening partnership of 106 saw us of to an amazing start and something we have not seen for a long time. Shawn blasted away and ended up on 91 of 80 balls with a few towering sixes when he just missed out on a ton after being strangled down leg side. Harris Khan came in and calmly consolidated to score a nice 33, before Ravi Teja sparkled for a quick fire 21 not out to see us home with ease.

A great win and pushes us up and right in the hunt. We let our cricket do the talking and put in a powerful clinical win. Onwards and upwards as we face Old Brentwood’s at home next week hoping to carry on the good perfomances.
