Match report On a cold, windy and in part rainy Saturday Parks hosted Matthews CC for its last friendly before the league matches start next week.

Having won the toss, Parks elected to field first. Parks opened with Jigar Desai who bowled as always with complete control and Nav Kalley returning strongly after missing most of last season with injury. Jigar finishing with figures of 6-1-9-1 and Nav taking a 5 wicket wicket haul 7-1-16-5. The follow on bowlers Anuj Tewari & Shahid Khan continued the good work, in particular Anuj who took 4 wickets for 32 runs. With this Park’s were able to bowl the opposition out in the 25th over for a meagre 88 runs.

In reply, Parks chased down the total in the 22nd over, with useful contributions from George Christian (29), Bhavik Trivedi (23) and Maran Mariyathas (13 not out).

On the whole, a satisfying end to this year’s pre season friendlies. The team collectively looks forward to next week, and the more serious business of league cricket.
