Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 5 Wickets

Match report For the second day running Oakfield lost the toss and were put into bat. Oakfield struggled to score runs registering just 31 on the board when the first wicket fell in the ninth over. Rohit Anandraj (15) joined Talha Raja at the crease and quickly put on a partnership of 27 before Talha was out on 32. A splendid innings by Sujeev Suganthan who finished on 24 n.o. was the only other player to reach double figures. Oakfield's innings finished on 108 for the loss of 7 wickets off their 20 overs.

Oakfield's bowlers began well in defence of their lead, there were wickets for Talha (3-0-16-1), Rohit (4-0-24-1), Om Thakeria (4-0-14-2) and Suleman Shaheen (1.4-0-12-1). But on a hot morning the batsman took full advantage of there being only 10 fielders on the pitch and regularly found the gaps. The Wells were always up with the run rate and needed just 5 off the last over, they took a single, then Suleman got a wicket, another single and then a four taking them past the target with 2 balls spare. This was a hard fought even contest played in good spirit with The Wells winning by 5 wickets - all at Oakfield wish them well in the next round.
