Match report We arrived at Loughton with a depleted squad of 8, our opposition also only had 7 of their players available. Therefore, it was decided we would play 16 overs each as a Terrier format.
Having won the toss our stand in captain Navine elected to field.
Their first pair of batsman put on 18 in the first set of four overs only losing a wicket once. The next pair got out once each but piled on the runs, making a partnership of 39. The remaining 2 pairs constantly scoring, being helped by some poor fielding and too many extras. Sheyrerar, Shaan, Ayann, Lut and Nilay all taking 1 wicket each. The score finishing on 117, leaving Parks with 118 to win.
Our first pair of batman were Sheyrerar who made an excellent 20 with some fine strokes & Zain contributing a score of 10 getting out once. Next pair were Shaan , who batting well scoring 2 fours in a row, finishing on 16 and Navine who got out once and made 2. Nilay & Lut followed, who defended well, with Lut only getting out once, finishing on 5 and -4 respectively. Our last pair Ayaan and Ashwin, needed 44 of the last 4 overs and they both batted brilliantly making 10 & 14 respectively, but we ended up short by 11 runs.
This was a great game, which the boys all enjoyed!
