Match report After winning the toss Fives captain Chris invited Parks to field first on a blustery but pleasant day.


Parks started the bowling with a new opening combination of Jigar Desai (6-1-19-1) and young colt Zayd Ahmed (6-0-24-2). Both bowlers bowled with control and took the first 3 wickets. The first change bowlers Keerthi and Fazan bowled with good discipline but failed to nab any further wickets. With the score at 53/3 after 18 overs skipper Maran introduced veteran spinner Shahid Khan (5-4-1-3) and Bhavik Trivedi (1.4-0-5-3) into the attack and both bowlers showcased their best spell of their season by taking 3 wickets a piece backed by a great fielding performance by the team (5 catches). Fives were eventually bowled out for 86 with 7 overs to spare. For Fives, the notable batting performance came from young wicket keeper batsman George Evans who made 21 playing some impressive attacking shots.


In reply parks opened the innings with Bhavik Trivedi and Chetan Patel. Both batsman played glorious cricketing shots from the outset and the score raced to 50 in just 6 overs. Chetan (29) gloved a quick rising ball from impressive young bowler D.Drennan to the keeper and did the gentleman thing and walked off without waiting for the umpire’s decision. An act applauded by the opposition team.

In came skipper Maran (12 not out) and with Bhavik (43 not out) made sure parks crossed the line without losing any more wickets on the 13th over. Two strong confidence boosting wins in a row for Parks and now will look to make it three next week against the table topping Brentwood.
