Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club 3rd XI v Hornchurch 4th on Sat 18 Aug 2018 at 12.30
Match was Drawn

Match report Parks won the toss and inserted Hornchurch. It proved a good move early on as Sanjaya Fernando and Matt Holland combined to take 5 early wickets. With Hornchurch at 35 for 5 Parks felt they could push for an early victory, but some poor catching and resilient lower order batting combined to give Hornchurch a very respectable 169 off their 50 overs. Ibrahim Iqbal once again impressed in the middle overs with 3/16.

The second innings was a disaster for Parks, with some poor shot choices claiming the top order. At one stage Parks were 50 for 7, and it looked like a humiliating defeat. Sanjaya Fernando however, fresh from a 17 over spell, managed to find the energy to stay with Mazham Ali at the other end. They combined for a 50 partnership which lasted all the way through the last hour. It means Parks managed a draw, but it could have been so much better. Next week Parks face Ilford with relegation still a possibility if they don't find some victories in the next few weeks.
