Match report Parks won the toss and chose to field on what proved to be a really good batting pitch. Hornchurch got off to a flyer thanks to keeper Hasnat, who made 80 in very quick time. After he fell caught in the deep, Parks started to turn things around. Firstly Haaris Shah bowled a superb spell of 4/47 in his 9 overs, which took away the top order, but this was followed up with some tight bowling from Ibrahim Iqbal (1/31 off his 9 overs), and some excellent catching. Parks could have restricted Hornchurch to 200 or less, but a couple of crucial chances went down. Despite this, it was felt the target was chasable, with short boundaries and a good surface.

The reply started well, Jai Patel batted through most of the innings for a fine 90, falling just short of his first hundred for the club. He was supported with some smaller contributions from the middle order, firstly from Faisal CHaudary (32), then Usman Rafiq (22). When Jai fell with around 90 runs still required at a run a ball, the target still looked some way off. It took a cool display by under 15 Rohitraj Ananeraj (31 not out), and a few lusty blows from Ibrahim Iqbal (22) and finally Matt Holland (8 not out).

This was a real team effort with everyone contributing.
