Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won by 56 runs

Match report Off the back of a thumping win last week Parks looked to make it back to back wins against top of the league Wickford.

On an overcast afternoon Parks skipper lost the toss and they were put into bat, on what turned out to be a slow and low wicket. After the loss of an early wicket, Faisal Bhatti (38) and Neil Braithwaite (32) consolidated for Parks and set up a good base with lots of wickets in hand for the middle and lower order to go hard at the end of the innings. Just as they were starting to score more freely they both fell in the same over, and Parks suffered a mini collapse, from 90-1 of 28 overs to 104-5 off 33 overs. However, James Foley (41) stepped up with a quick knock, which was well supported by Baldeep mann (11) rotating the strike well, and then finished off excellently by Sarankan Skandamoorthy (26*) with some great hitting and running between the wickets to help Parks climb to, what seemed, a below average score of 186 all out with five balls to spare.

After were tea early wickets were needed to get back into the driving seat, but Parks were feeling confident, know the pitch was hard to bat on. Following an early surge from the opposition, Parks were made to wait till their 11 over to claim the first wicket. Baldeep Mann (10-1-43-2) coming up with the goods Wickford 41-1. From then on, the wickets tumbled, as the next 9 wickets were claimed for just 89 runs. Mubasher Ahmed (16-6-37-3), Tarunpreet Bhatia (5-1-19-1) and Dilan Patel (7-0-21-4) all bowled superbly to finish the opposition off for 130 all out.

25 points for Parks and a real statement to the rest of the league. Keep it going.
