Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost by 3 wickets

Match report Oakfield Parks host their last game in a dead rubber v Harlow. With ones carrying 4 3rd team players to help the twos win the league it was always going to be a hard task.

Parks batted well with Eshun Kalley opening the batting and scoring 44 well made runs. However, the stars of the show were young lads Bhavdeep Sehmi and Rohit Ananeraj who scored 17 and 20 respectively. They showed no fear and these young boys from the threes batted with class as well great signs for the future. But the real highlight was pinch hitter Abdul Razzaq, promoted to number 10 with clear instructions to exploit the last 10 overs. This he did with an explosive 35 of 17 balls, blitzing it to all parts, with 2 monster 6s one straight over the pacers head which went many a mile. Parks finished on a respectable 196.

Harlow batted well and got the win. We threw all at them but once again curious umpiring did not help our cause. Pick of the bowlers was Abdul Razzaq with 4 wickets which coupled with his power hitting means he could be becoming Parks Sunil Narine! But again the highlight was another 3rd team super star Matt Holland getting his first wicket in ones cricket getting the big fish J Messenger plumb LBW.

So a loss but a nice end of season game to finish. Parks finished only 20 points of 3rd in a tight division and competed well to at one point being real contenders to go up. We hope to do even better next year. Well done to all the squad with all their efforts in another positive season for Parks.
