Match report Oakfield Parks travelled to Horndon on the Hill hoping to bounce back after last weeks loss. With conditions a bit damp but drying out quick captain Dave Rai stuck Horndon in on what seemed a good toss to win.

Things did not go to plan as they raced to 50 for no loss with boundaries flowing from the Horndon openers. However, the introduction of spin turned the game. As spin twins Ravi Teja and Abdul Razzaq came on to completely change the game with runs drying up and wickets falling. Ravi Teja bowled with flight and guile to cut through their batting like knife through butter to take a superb 6 wickets for only 26 runs as they had no answer to his variations. He was supported by good catching from the Parks unit. Abdul also was superb in strangling the Horndon innings with amazing figures of 10 overs, 5 maidens for only 8 runs! Abdul's one wicket was the big fish of Opposition captain Jeff West with a good running catch by the ever mobile Harris Khan. Thus Horndon were skittled for 139 in a good team effort with spin being the key to dismantle Horndon.

Parks went in to bat confident of chasing the total but things started bad as suddenly Parks were 21-3 and looking down the barrel. But a superb 122 run partnership between Ravi Teja and Harris Khan calmed all the nerves and sealed the win. Ravi finished with as usual a chanceless knock of 58 not out and Harris Khan in a composed and big hitting 52 not out. Ravi as per norm was class in stroking the ball to all parts but with the odd power hit clearing the ropes by many a mile, a master class and joy to watch. Harris showed his experience to see of the collapse and then increase his tempo to hit some delightful hits in a mature knock to carry on his good form. He hit many crisp shots in the V in trade mark fashion. Thus parks cruised to the win in only 29.4 overs to over whelm Horndon.

A good win that keeps Parks in 3rd only 14 points of top. All to play for in this exciting tough season as we continued our amazing run of wins away from home. We entertain a resurgent Harlow Town next week hoping to get another win to keep the momentum going.
