Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost by 6 wickets

Match report Parks hosted Wickford and had first use of the wicket on a lovely sunny day. Parks found batting tough going on a very tough track. On a pitch made for bowling on the batsman all struggled to cope. The only shining light was Ubaid Kiani who looked like he was batting on a completely different surface to score a superb 52 of 96 balls with great calm and many a fine shot to show his qualities once again. However, things did not end well as we limped to 141 all out and did not even use up the 50 overs.

So with such a low total to chase and a poor wicket Wickford opted to attack and chance their arm. It worked as they went for it. It could have back fired and they could have been 10-3 but it was their day and they blitzed it. So Wickford raced to the win in 24.3 overs with the pick of the bowlers Abdul Razzaq with 3 wickets. So a horrendous loss and a big blow.

A poor loss but on a wicket which evened up the contest to make matters more akin to a lottery. But despite the loss second place fives also lost so Parks are still in the hunt. We travel to Horndon next week hoping to bounce back.
