Match report Ilford won the toss and put Oakfield into bat. The loss of Amanjit Singh for a duck in the first over only brought Samuel Varnes to the crease;
Samuel took on the Ilford attack with a quick-fire innings which included seven 4's before retiring on 33. Skipper Adnan Rifan played steadily chipping in with 18 runs before Om Thakeria (31 retired) and Andrien Amirthanayagam (29 not out) piled on the runs with Oakfield reaching 157 for the loss of 2 wickets off their 20 overs.
This was a huge target for Ilford who were always behind the run rate due to some tight bowling by Karandeep Bansel (3-1-9-1) and Amanjit (2-0-6-1), but the star of the show was Om Thakeria who took 4 wickets and finished with figures of 3-1-5-4. There was also a wicket for Jaime Bailey (3-0-15-1) and two superb catches by Sujeev Suganathan. Ilford finished their 20 overs on 107 for 7 with Oakfield running out winners by 50 runs.
