Match report Parks went into this first league game very confident. After promotion last year the team are used to winning, and this game started promisingly. Faisal Choudry got the team off to a good start with 37 quick fire runs, but gradually Harlow fought their way back into the game with regular wickets and the runs drying up. Thanks must go to Inderpreet Bhatia, who stuck out the tough middle overs to reach a valliant 76 not out and ensure Parks got up to 234/6 and were able to declare 5 overs early.

It meant they had 50 overs to bowl Harlow Town out, and this looked very much on at the drinks break. Parks had reduced Harlow to 7 wickets down with only 120 on the board. With an hour to go it seemed likely that the first game of the season would also be the first win, but the second to last pair stuck it out and frustrated Parks, the game ending in a draw at 178/8 off the 50 overs.

The main reason for the disappointing reult must be laid at the fielding. The weather was cold, but there can be no excuses for the many catches that were put down. Better is expected next week at Hainault and Clayhall.
