Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 77 runs

Match report Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club (OPCC) kicked of their Natwest U19 Club T20 campaign at home hosting an excellent Cavalier Cricket Academy ‘CCA’ team. Captain Paran Kalley won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first.
Bowling first OPCC were today on the whole unable to bowl with any consistency, with CCA taking full advantage of the below standard bowling. The only exception being Aman Ali who bowled very well, ending with figures of 4-0-19-1. Tarunpreet Bhatia also bowled well (although the 4th over was expensive) picking-up 2 vital wickets for 36 runs of his allocated 4 overs. Two more wickets (one each) were taken by Anujan Thiru and Eshun Kalley. With this CCA were able to put a formidable score of 190 of their allocated 20 overs.
OPCC went into chasing the set target, with their usual self-belief, but on this occasion the total was too big to chase down. OPCC in reply managed to get 113 of their allocated 20 overs, with the only notable contributions coming from the U14 player Eshun Kalley, who made 34 with a strike rate of 141.
On another day, had OPCC taken their catches and bowled better, they would have given a very good CCA team a more competitive match; unfortunately today was not the day.
The young Parkonians, as always remain positive, and hope to win their remaining matches, and hence qualify for the next stage of the tournament.
