Match report Oakfield Parkonians 4th XI drew with Upminster 6th XI at Oakfiled on 23 July 16

Oakfield Parkonians 213 for 4 declared (43 overs), Uminster 194 for 8 wickets (42 overs)

Having put into bat by the visiting skipper, Parks had a great start with an excellent opening partnership of 82 between Andrew Beavan and Y Karuna but lost Andrew Beavan (28) and Karthegan Thavanesan in successive balls to Cassey Adams in the 13th overs. Y Karuna (58) and Adam Goldman (22) batted sensibly to produce another good partnership of 54 in 17 overs. After both batsmen were out, a quick fire of 54 not out (six 4s and four 6s) from the in-form batsman Gurmit Bhatia and the support from Maram Mariyaths (12 no) ensured Parks declared on 213 for 4 after 42 overs. Cassey Adams and S Iqbal took 2 wickets a piece for Upminster.

Upminster started well despite losing the skipper to Manick Shankar in the 7th over as the opener Cassey Adams and number 3 batsman S Iqbal scoring runs well above the required run rate and produced a very good partnership of 126 runs in 22 overs. Both looking dangerous, introduction of Andrew Beavan into the bowling attack paid off as he bowled Cassey Admans out for a well crafted 68. Upminster needing another 66 in 16 overs had a middle order collapsed as Parks skipper Vijay Vijayanathan claimed 4 wickets in the spell of 9 overs, could not prevent Upminster salvaging a draw after 42 Overs. Andrew Beavan bowled well to claim 3 wickets including the top scorer S Iqball who batted well to his 80 runs. Parks were unlucky again not to bowl a side out, but moved to third place in the league table hoping to carry the momentum in to the remaining games.
