Match report For the first time this season skipper Foley won the toss and elected to bowl first on a wet wicket that had been covered all night. Usman Aslan and Amit Kalley opened up and whilst Amit struggled for consistency, Usman bowled tight lines to keep the pressure on the openers. After 10 over Sifth Ali was introduced and troubled the batsmen with nearly every ball, swinging it both ways. He dismissed the top 3 batsmen, 2 excellently caught behind by the stand in keeper (who eventually caught 3 catches and conceded no byes, regular keeper Patel should be concerned). The spinners operated in the middle overs with Dilan Patel and Aman Ali bowling some excellent balls but also some rank deliveries, Patel was the pick of the spinners with 3 wickets, including that of their danger batsmen. Aslan came back on to wrap up the opposition innings with some excellent late bowling. A number of catches were dropped again though leaving Parks 201 to chase.
Operation 'see off Mughal' was the batting plan, with openers Ryan and Serankan batting with discipline to see off the new ball to set up a platform for the stroke players Taha and Foley. The plan worked to perfection with a stand of over 120 with some big hits and good running from both batsmen. Foley was impressive again, striking a good 79 before being caught on the line.
This left 30 runs for young bucks Ronan Karuna and Amun Ali to knock off, with Ali nurdling singles and 'Big Ro the Ox' smashing 2 huge blows to finish the game. 20 points. Great win.
