Match report On the hottest day of the season so far Parks were glad to be batting first. Starting brightly with a few delightful boundaries but were soon rocked losing both openers in quick succession. Once again Sifth Ali joined the skipper Usman Rafiq at the crease and the two proceeded to dismantle the opposition bowlers with another 150 plus partnership. The captain finished on 75 which included 12 crisp fours and Sifth (103) continued his fine form with his second century of the weekend (including 18 fours and a monster 6) after which he kindly retired to let someone else get some runs! A late cameo from Vijay (22*) enabled Parks to post 263 from their allotted overs. On a fairly green wicket with variable bounce it was another commanding performance.

Parks enjoyed their tea and felt confident they could defend this total. Amar Thanki, making his welcome return to the club, shared the new ball with young Matt Holland. Both bowled well and were unlucky not to pick up a wicket with edges flying everywhere. Upminster were not going down without a fight the openers went at the ball hard. Khan was brutal bringing up his half century within the first 10 overs. A special moment was needed and the skipper pulled out a curve ball bringing on newcomer Faisal. After a somewhat loose first over (people questioned the experiment) the tactical change worked with Faisal getting into his rhythm and bowling at good pace removing the danger man Khan for 54. Faisal finished with 2 wickets from his spell. With Upminster still going at an alarming rate the spin doctor Aman Ali was bought on and did not disappoint finishing with 5-0-20-2 once again bowling brilliantly. The game was still in the balance ,Upminster's Ward hitting some lusty blows. Parks legend Sunny "D" Singh was bought on and he removed Ward to finish with 8-0-27-2. Youngster Jaydeep bowled well on the other end picking up a vital wicket. A couple of run outs later (one from Vijay!!) and Parks bowled the opposition out for 167.
