Match report Games with Black Rose are normally a tense and feisty affair and this was no different.

Oakfield batted first in Highgate park on a warm afternoon. Black Rose opened with spin (as is their custom) and had the dangerous Faisal Bhatti stumped for 12. Paran Kalley joined Taaha Naqvi at the crease and both batted beautifully mixing good running with boundaries on a spin friendly pitch. Paran (49) was unfortunate to miss out on his half century. Taaha carried the Oakfield innings compiling a fine 123. None of the other Oakfield batsmen really came to terms with the conditions with only Paresh Kalley (15) and Sifth Ali (19) providing useful cameos. Parks finished on 244 from there allotted 45 overs.

Faisal Choudry and Sifth shared the new ball and were amply rewarded as Black Rose were 3 down with not many on the board. After which it appeared that Black Rose were only interested in the draw played on the back foot. Chasing the win the ball was thrown around the field. Some complacency in the field and with the ball allowed black rose back into the game. Needing a 100 to win of the last 10 overs the dangerous Andre dispatched one over for 20 runs. The game went down to the wire with 18 needed of the last over. Aman Ali was thrown the ball and the first ball went for 6 (echos of Brathwaite) it came down to 12 of the last 2 balls and thankfully Parks held onto the draw.

Unfortunately at times the game was not played in the best spirit with unnecessary aggressive behaviour from the opposition otherwise an exciting game of cricket.
