Match report A depleted 9 man Oakfield had their task made even harder when bowler Jaime Bailey pulled a muscle in the first over whilst fielding. Oakfield had won the toss in this final group stage match and put Great Baddow into bat; they were progressing steadily until Umar Muhamed (3-0-1-12) struck in the fifth over with a clean bowled. An excellent all round fielding performance from Oakfield frustrated Great Baddow; two wickets for Amanjit Singh (5-0-2-13) one a superb caught and bowled restricted the flow of runs but it was Om Thakeria (5-1-5-13) with a fine performance of left-arm leg spin taking five wickets including a hat-trick who stole the show; the last an excellent stumping by keeper Samuel Varnes. Great Baddow finished their 25 overs on 96 for 9.
Samuel and Adnan Rifan opened the innings and were progressing fine until it was Adnan's turn to pull a muscle retiring on 27; Samuel carried his bat through the innings hitting ten fours the last of which took him to his maiden 50 and secured a fine win for Oakfield who finished on 97 for 2 after 19 overs winning by 8 wickets.
