Match report On the warmest Saturday of the year, Oakfield lost the toss and were asked to field. Fortunately, Manicks Shankar took a wicket in his second over and Nimanka de Silva took one in his third. Thereafter, Clive and David Franklin slowly added runs despite some excellent Parks fielding. Shankar eventually persuaded Clive to hit it to Pirra, who took an excellent low catch. Wickets then fell steadily, most of them to Pranav Khetia who finished with 5 for 25 from ten overs. Hutton were all out for 117 in 39.1 overs.
Parks started their reply steadily with in-form man Shahid Khan and Dan Shalom, playing his first game for two or three years. Shalom departed for 6, but this brought in Sarankan Skandamoorthy who played beautifully. He and Shahid took the score to within four of the target, but Sarankan was out going for the big shot for glory and it was left to Maran Mariyathas to hit he winning runs. An excellent victory with a good team performance.
