Shenfield 4th v Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club 3rd XI on Sat 18 Jul 2015 at 1pm
Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won By 151 runs

Match report It was a case of deja vue as The Parks batted first, put on a huge score and then bowled out the opposition very cheaply to win quite comfortably. It is a formula that has worked very well over the last few games, only on this occasion OPCC lost the toss and were put into bat. There was new opening partnership of Ronan Karuna and Tarunpreet Bhatia and what an opening partnership it was as the 2 young colts put on an opening stand of 177 in only 25 overs (surely this must be a 3s record?) and they wasn’t a shot they didn’t play whilst they were at the crease. Early on Ronan was the more aggressive of the two and hit a brilliant 95 before he was caught 5 short of what would have been a well deserved century. His knock included fourteen 4s and six huge 6s. However, Tarun wasn’t far behind and really cut loose once Ronan was out and hewas looking good for his first century of the season but was unselfishly out on 89 trying to accelerate the score on the captain’s instructions. He, like Ronan, played some text book stuff and hit twelve 4s and one 6. Together the youngsters laid a great foundation and Usman Raqia came in at No 3 to score yet another 55no and this included eleven 4s and was made in double quick time and think we have to change his name to Chris Rogers due to the number of consecutive 50s he has scored for both the 3s and Sunday ‘A’ and long may it continue. This aggressive batting meant The Parks were able to declare on 272 for 2 off only 32.3 overs and it gave the bowlers plenty of time to try and bowl out the opposition.
Like the batting, this was also a new opening bowling pair but like their batting counterparts, they continued the theme of previous weeks as they had Shenfield 3 down inside 7 overs. Kabir Matwala struck first as he bowled the opener with a great leg side yorker and finished with 5-0-14-1. At the other end the skipper (Nav Kalley) also struck twice and got 2 wickets with 2 balls and was on a hat trick but it was not to be as he finished on 6-1-27-2. Thereafter, wickets fell at regular intervals and every bowling change seeemed to do the trick with all the bowlers getting at least a wicket but the stand out bowler was Ibrahim Iqbal who caused some problems with his left arm pace bowling (5-0-27-3) and there were wickets for Inderpreet Bhatia (4-0-30-1), Sarankan Skandamoorthy (3.3-0-11-2) and Pirratheesh Vigneswarathasan (3-0-16-1). In the end OPCC were comfortable winners as they bowled out their opposition for 121 in only 26.3 over and won by 151 runs.
