Match report Although it was a friendly, this game was an important one as we will be facing Benfleet again in the league and it'd be a good test to see where we were as a unit.
There was no surprise when Benfleet won the toss and elected to field first in overcast conditions. Parks were in slight trouble at 61 - 3. Rana joined skipper Jibran at the crease and steadied the ship. Jibran departed for a well made 47 but what came next was a masterclass from Rana, smashing Benfleet to all parts making 130 and well supported by Usman with a well crafted 57* taking Parks to an excellent total of 292 - 6 in 45 overs.
In reply, Raghav showed great skill, his swing bowling was unplayable at times and got both openers cheaply and finished with figures of 9-3-20-2. Baldeep supported Raghav well and was unlucky to not get the wicket of Gavin Blowes, who was dropped on 5 in the slips and went on to make 146 not out. Spinners, Abdul and Jibran kept things tight and made sure Benfleet were never in the game. Benfleet posted 241-6, and it was a comfortable win in the end for Parks.
