Match report With a week of continuous downpour both team arrived to a ground which looked promising with sunshine and cloud, the wicket looked very green and Oakfield skipper, Dilan Patel had no hesitation putting Westcliff-on-Sea into bat.

Strike Bowler A Thiru (11-3-20-5) and E Kalley (5-3-7-0) started off really well maintaining great scoring pressure allowing wickets to also fall at the same time. Westcliff opening bat, Lockhurst (64) top scored before being bowled by D Patel (12-5-38-3). Westcliff was bowled out for a total of 119.

As tea was taken the cloud came over the ground and rain started to come down, with the forecast not looking optimistic for the rest of the evening Oakfield had changed plans to go get the runs promptly.
E Kalley (66*) played a beautiful inning with strokes all around the ground in the space of no time with H Shah (49) at the other end who supported and played just as aggresive before falling one short of a personal landmark. Parkonians crossed the line 12 overs into the game and beat the rain to the victory.

This has now secured promotion for the 2XI and with one game to go they need 8 points from their last fixture to secure the title. It is a very happy camp and i’m sure they'll play like the champions they are to secure the title, that they truly deserve.
