Match report Parks promoted to Div 2!

It was a cold overcast day and Parks needed to win the game to stay in for a title chance. Toss was won and Parks decided to bat first on a slow and low wicket as Parks needed full 25 points. Opener, Glen Sasikaran, did not trouble the scorer as he was bowled by a late in swinging delivery. In came skipper and blasted lust blows to give a chance for early declaration. However, his saty at the wicket was made brief as he tried to pull one only managing an under edge to the the keeper. Faisal, so often has he been reliable this season, kept ticking the score board over and dispatching any loose balls to the big boundaries. He departed after a well made 61. All other batsmen contributed notably by Paran and Rana. Skipper decided to declare early giving his bowlers a chance to bowl the opposition out.

Weather interrupted the proceedings as play was stopped after tea break for nearly 40 mins. Bowler started well after the break as Glen took the 1st wicker with his very first ball. It looked like a daunting task as the drizzle made it difficult to hold onto the catches. Play was stopped after 15 overs as the umpires thought it was too dark for play to be possible. No further play was possible as it started pouring down and both skippers decided to shake hands at 6.10 pm. Parks got 6 points but it was enough to secure the promotion as earlier Walthamstow had lost to Old Southendians.
