Match report This match was a special occasion for two reasons. Youngsters, Anujan Thiru (17) and Aman Ali (14) made their debuts in 1st XI SNEL cricket, and new boys: Rana Arsalan and Omar Ahmad playing against their former club

Parks were in excellent form with the bat after the Walthamstow demolition and continued from where they left off. Bhatti and Arsalan contributed with starts and both created platforms with Khan. The latter however scored freely when he wanted and protected his wicket at times of importance. Khan was in the middle for nearly 3 hours and short of his century by 10 runs when he holed out to deep mid-wicket. Captain Azam was the catalyst to a 300+ score as he conveniently scored his fourth 50 of the season off just 39 deliveries. Aman Ali and Ahmad put on a 60 run partnership in 6 overs, Ahmad dismantling Qazi who was sledging away to Khan earlier on, bringing the game to a halt. Ali confirmed his all-rounder credentials nudging ones and twos with the odd boundary.

At tea there was a relaxed atmosphere as Parks were confident of victory. Light work was made of Woodford's top 5 as they were dismissed for 57 and the rest was history. Thiru bowled superbly with pace and treating the batsmen to some unplayable chin music. Mughal with his perfect line and length earned him 10 wickets versus Woodford this season. Ali's excellently flighted deliveries, mixed with darting and quicker balls made him the pick of the bowlers.

Overall, fantastic debuts by the two youngsters, solid 50s by Khan and Azam, the title run continues with a potential decider next week against second place Old Southendians.
