Match report Oakfield Parkonians made an impressive start to their campaign in the league.
The skipper was not hesitant to ask the opposition to bat after he had won the toss. The wicket looked good but overcast conditions proved that it was a good toss to win.
The opening bowlers did not disappoint the skipper as Raghav Chopra and Arshad Mughal bowled tight line and length, particularly Chopra who bowled with pace and swing. At times he was unplayable and bowled a long spell of eleven overs which included 7 maidens. He finished with impressive three wickets to his account. Others contributed to the downfall of Walthamstow batsmen. Jibran finished with 4 wickets to his name, Abdul finished with two and Baldeep got an important wicket towards the end. Omar kept well and took couple of good catches.

Sun came out after the tea interval which made Walthamstow bowlers toil hard for wickets. The opening pair of Faisal and Ali started well but Faisal lost his wicket at 27. Ali made a gritty 20 before he departed trying to hook Intizar. Then came the reliable pair of Jibran and Haris and saw the home team over the line.
