Match report On a beautifully sunny bank holiday Monday, the U16 match play team played their first fixture for the 2015 season. Having lost the toss OPCC were asked to field first.

Opening the bowling for the young parks Sift Ali and Abdul Usman, both bowled exceedingly well. Both bowled 6 overs each, with Sift finishing with a great debut bowling performance of 6-4-3-3. At this point the opposition were reeling at 24 for 3. The change bowlers Tarunpreet Bhatia and Sahil Handa also kept the pressure on the opposition. Both bowlers bowled 3 overs each, with Tarunpreet ending with figures of 3-1-2-1, and Sahil with figures of 3-0-10-2. Then captain Paran Kelley brought on spin at both ends, with Kartheghan, and Aman Ali bowling exceedingly well together. Kartheghan ending with figures of 7-0-17-2, and Aman 2-1-1-2.The fine collective bowling performance resulted in the opposition being bowled out by the young Parkonians within 31 overs for a meagre 77.

In reply the young parks opened with Paran Kalley, and Ronan Karuna. Both batsmen did what was asked of them but unfortunately Paran was out for 8. This then brought another debutant Arun Olivelle to the crease. Both Ronan and Arun played very well, with both reaching the required target with ease within 15 overs. Ronan remaining not out with a very well made 31, and Arun also remaining not out with equally well compiled 25.

In the end, the young parks got to 78 for 1 in 15.1 over’s, thereby winning the match by a handsome 9 wicket margin, with 24.5 over’s to spare. Overall a great start to the 2015 campaign by all team members.
