Match report Friendly Fixture

OPCC 3rd XI lost at home to Radison by 2 wickets

Parks 3rd XJ played a friendly at home ground with a mixture of colts and some regular 3rd XI players as there was no league game. Vijay won the toss and decided to bat first in a 40 over match. Oakfield started well with Alan Bouquet (10) and Y Karuna (15) but lost both batsmen in a quick session which left no 3 batsman Usman Rafiq (49) and the skipper Vijay Vijayanathan (43) to steady the ship. They put a valuable partnership of 82 runs to bring thye score to 136 following which Bal Diocee (20) and Akil Patel's quick fire of 22 helped Parks to 213 for 7 wickets in 40 overs.

Vinay for Radison was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets for 14 runs in his spell of 8 overs.

In reply Radison lost their top three batsmen within the first 6 overs to the opening bowlers Aman Patel and Ryan Karuna. The latter claimed another wicket in his last over to finish with 3 for 31. Aman bowled 4 tidy overs one wicket for 10 runs. But Parks failed to capitalise on an excellent start as the number 4 batsman Sattu and the no 6 batsman Vinay played very well to produce a match winning partnership of 159. Sattu was brilliantly caught behind the stumps by Alan Bouquet for 99 off Usman Rafiq who also dismissed Vinay caught at long off for 54.

Although Radison lost two further wickets, Parks dropped catches towards the end and this cost the match with Radison winning by 2 wickets
