Match report Having scored a magnificent 171 in the Matchplay last week, Oakfield’s young talented Paran Kalley showed his excellent form once again in this friendly game by scoring a rapid 121 with fifteen 4s and a six. He also put on a huge partnership of 196 with the somewhat older Stan Foley (64 Retired Out) for the 1st wicket.
Oakfield, batting first after having won the toss, capitalised on opponents poor fielding, and a late cameo innings of 29 not out from Teerath Diocee helpd them to post 247 for 8 in 40 overs.
R Jogia bowled particularly well for Noak Hill to take 3 wickets for 27 runs in 8 overs with the support from Lee French who took 2 wickets.
Noak Hill Taverners started well as the openers played sensibly with an opening partnership of 112 but failed to capitalise on their good start as they lost wickets at regular interval. The opening batsman Lee French was looking dangerous as he was still scoring runs to keep the required run rate, but eventually he lost his wicket playing on to the stumps for a brilliant 97.
Despite a good effort from Mark Dublin for 21 not out, Noak Hill lost the last wicket 18 runs short of the target. Nadeem Usman and Usman Rafiq took 2 wickets apiece for Oakfield.
