Match report This was a very convincing win for the U13s in their penultimate Peter Coe game against a very young Benfleet side. Due to time constraints (there was a senior match at 1.30pm), the Benfleet coach very supportingly agreed to bat first and Old Parks stuck to their task very well, restricting Benfleet to 63 for 9 off their 30 overs. Everyone bar the wicket-keeper bowled and the stand out performers with the bowl were Nirbhay Bist (3-0-3-2), Thanuson Thayaparan (3-1-2-3) and Rohitraj Ananeraj (4-1-12-2) and they very well supported by the other 6 bowlers.
This was never going to enough and OPCC reached their target of 64 in the 14th over but with the loss of 5 wickets. The main contributors with the bat were Faaris Moreland (33) and Nirbhay (21no). This was a great win but a little too late as OPCC cannot qualify to the semi-finals of the Peter Coe but it was a great experience for the young Colts and to build for next year’s campaign.
