Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Lost By 67 runs

Match report This was the game that the U13s had been looking forward to and they came up against a very strong Colchester & East Essex side that included 4 Essex players (including their opening bowler). OPs lost the toss and bowled first on a fairly flat track. The bowlers started very well and restricted Colchester to 60 for 1 off the first 13 overs but some very sensible batting and late order fireworks, alllowed Colchester to finish on 216 for 7 off their alloted 40 overs. The pick of the bowlers were Paresh Kalley (7-1-27-1), Eshun Kalley (8-0-44-2) and Karthegan Thavanesan (8-1-28-0). This was a very achievable target but too many batsmen, after having got in, were out to poor shots selctions and the only batman who applied himself was Karthegan who finished on 50no. This was a very disappointing end to our Peter Coe campaign and might have been a very different story had we batted to our full potential.
