Match report Old Parks lost batting first with 196 for 9 of 40 overs vs. Woodford Green B’s 197 for 7 in reply in 39.5 overs.

In a friendly match this Sunday James Foley lead the team in Vikram’s absence (for the last time- returning to full-time cricket from next week!) to a well matched competition of two perfectly balanced sides of colts and older players. Old Parks batted well to achieve 196 for 9 of 40 overs. Starting with James Foley (28) and young U13 Paresh Kalley achieving a very respectable 45 runs at the open, with good support from Shahid Khan (20) and Usman Rafiq with a well-earned 56.

In the second half we saw a rollercoaster of an innings as we swung from holding back the opposition to a low run rate, to a lapsed spell in the middle, to a tough fighting finish with wickets flying.
Many thanks to tidy spell from U15 recruit to the Sunday side in Aman Patel (8-1-21-2); he bowled out the opener (also A. Patel) just as he achieved a century and then departed - bowled on the very next ball! Another standout session from Paresh Kalley (5.3-0-30-2) bringing up the rear to a close finish. Both colts were ably supported by the seniors Victor Yatheesh our leading wicket taker managing 8-0-41-1. Pira (5-0-26-1) and Dilan Patel (4-0-27-1). In the end Woodford Green B finished leaving Old Parks in defeat with only 3 balls left to bowl.
