Oakfield Parkonians Cricket Club Won By 93 runs

Match report This was the U13s 5th game in the Peter Coe cup and continued there unbeaten run in this competition (winning 4 and a tie in the other game). They now sit very proudly at the top of the table and 2 more wins will see them reach the semi-finals. However, this game did not quite start as OPs would have liked as there lost both their openers with only 27 runs on the board. But then came in Ronan Karuna in the 7th over and by the time he departed (in the 28th over), Old Parks had reached 152 for 7. Ronan batted very maturely and was very ably supported by Karambir Matharu (28) and his younger brother - Ryan Karuna (13no) but Ronan was the star of the batting show, hitting a quite magnificiant 70, which was made in very difficult batting conditions and included 10 fours. This allowed OPs to post a very healthy 167 for 8 of their 30 overs. To make for their disappointed batting performance, Paresh Kalley and Sahil Handa made up for in their bowling as their opening spell reduced Kelvedon to 38 for 6 are 10 overs and Sahil finished with figures of 5-1-23-2. However, like the batting, the star of the bowling show as Paresh whose first 5 overs cost 10 but produced 4 wickets and he came back at the death to finally finish with amazing figures of 5.2-0-10-5 and there was a wicket apiece for Thomas Varnes (3-0-15-1), Abdul Usman (2-0-4-1) and Abdul-Raouf Irshad (2-0-3-1). In the end this proved to be a very comfortable win and OPs ran out very worthy winner, beating Kelvedon by 93 runs.
