Match report Len Stentiford Cup – Match 1
Having lost the toss Old Parks were asked to bat first. The innings was opened by with Arun Kullar & Akhil Patel. Both batsmen batted well and were retired on scores of 30 & 24 respectively. The next two batsmen were the Kalley brother’s Paran & Paresh. Both brothers’s batted well with Paran Kalley run out for 18 and Paresh Kalley remaining not out on 26. On the fall of Paran’s wicket the incoming batsman Tarunpreet Bhatia batted well for his 16. Hence the collective batting performance helped Old Parks to finish on 132 for 2 of the allocated 20 over’s.
Old Parks opened the bowling with Paran Kalley who struck with his very first ball and sent the opposition opener back to the pavilion for a golden duck. Following on from Paran Kalley excellent start all the bowlers that followed bowled very well, with Dhilan Ghadhari getting 2 wickets for 1 run, U11 Colts player Ryan Karuna getting 3 wickets for 3 runs and Melvin 1 for 2. The remaining 3 wickets fell (Run Out) to some great fielding from Old Parks. Theydon Bois were bowled all out for 26 of 9.1 over’s. Over all it was a very satisfying performance by all team members today.
