Match report The Sunday XI secured their first win of the season in beating Epping Foresters by four wickets at Oakfield in the main thanks to messrs Foley and Aussie Ryan. The pair added close on 170 for the second wicket, with James Foley hitting a classy 106 with 17 fours and one six following-on from his 61 the previous week and Jason Ryan smacking 88 with 12 fours and two sixes.

Chris Nutt won the toss and inserted the visitors and despite some early excellent bowling from Dave 'Zim' Allbury (3-43), Vijay (2-30) and Josh Gordon (1-13) plus some wonderful catching from Max Mukesh, John Medley and James Foley (what happened to your dropped catch webmaster!?) Parks had the visitors on the back foot. Reliving the spectacular catches, Mukesh dived to the left to hold onto a fierce cut, Medley juggled and caught one handed in the slips and Foley having been moved back a few paces at first slip dived forward and just got his fingertips underneath the ball.

However, 53 from Jamie Allen and 98 from Neil McGowan took Foresters to 199 all out from their 40 overs exactly. Max collected 2-25 and Bilal Ashfaq 2-34.

In reply, despite the early loss of Howard Berlin, Foley and Ryan virtually guided Parks to victory until they fell in quick succession leaving yours truly to hit the winning runs despite apparently being given out lbw the previous ball when the leather hit ones chest, only to see the umpire (colt Jamie Porter) reverse his decision!

A good game of cricket played in good spirit and nice to welcome Epping Foresters to Oakfield. We hope to invite them back again.
